Automotive Engineering Laboratory

Features of the Automotvie Engineering Laboratory

Including four-wheel vehicles, this laboratory possesses eight-wheel vehicles, crawlers, steerable crawlers (vehicles with four crawler units), articulate-type crawlers (crawler unit vehicles which steer by inflecting the body of the vehicle in the middle), and many other experimental model vehicles, as well as one-wheel experimental models (real car-size models) for measuring the forces generated between the driving device and the ground surface. The most prominent feature of the laboratory is the ability to perform research through tangible and understandable experiments using model vehicles. The computational models obtained from the analysis of the data gathered through experiments are subsequently used in computer simulations. It is possible to apply the estimations for the vehicle behavior analyzed using computers to the design of driving devices.
