Office of MSE is located at 2nd floor in the 1st Science and engineering building. Laboratories belonging to MSE are located in 1st and 3rd the Science and engineering building, and building C and E.


SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopes)
SEM allows to observe an objective with high resolution. Our SEMs are also equipped with Energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) used for microanalysis of chemical elements and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) used for crystal orientation studies.
Arc melting furnace
Arc melting furnace is used to melt materials with high melting point.
XRD (X-ray diffraction)
XRD is capable of detecting and analyzing crystal structure of materials.
XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer)
XPS provides information on chemical composition and chemical-bonding state of materials.
FE-TEM (field-emission transmission electron microscopy)
The TEM is capable of imaging at a significantly higher resolution. The image is magnified and focused onto an imaging device and recorded on a photographic flim.
