MOTIVATION
IS Kyushu (International Symposium on Earth Reinforcement) has been held in every four years, which were in 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2001. There are still many developments and new application fields on the earth reinforcement technique. Therefore, we have decided to organize a new IS Kyushu which is the 5th IS Kyushu at City of Fukuoka on November 14-16 in 2007. Recently, the issues of disaster prevention and geo-environmental engineering have become very important and earth reinforcement technique could be one of the effective solutions.
