ACTION PLANS

  1. TC9 meeting will be held whenever the related symposia/conferences are held. Followings are the possibilities of this meeting:
    1. 4th ICEG (August 12-16, 2002, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
    2. 7th ICG (September 22-27, 2002, Nice, France)
    3. Geosynthetics 2002 (November 20-22, 2002, Shanghai, China)
    4. 12th Pan American Regional Conference (June 22-26, 2003, Boston, U.S.A.)
    5. 12th Asian Regional Conference (August 4-8, 2003, Singapore)
    6. 13th European Regional Conference (August 25-28, 2003, Prague, Czech)
    7. 13th African Regional Conference (December, 2003, Marrakech, Morocco)
    8. 9th ANZ Regional Conference (February, 2004, ???)
    9. 16th ICSMGE (September 12-16, 2005, Osaka, Japan).
  2. In order to enhance TC9 activities, Japanese Supporting Committee will be organized in the Japanese Geotechnical Society.
  3. E-mail will be used for discussion among TC9 members as much as possible. Followings are the mailing lists:

  4. Home Page (HP)for TC9 will be prepared and the contents of this HP will be renewed as often as possible.
  5. Two working groups will be set in the TC9 in which are
    1. Soil reinforcement (SR), and
    2. Soil mixing(SM).
    And a few subcommittees will also be set in each working group. Those are
    1. Soil reinforcement:
      1. Soil Reinforcement for man-made ground (SR1),(Geosynthetics, Steel and so on)
      2. Soil Reinforcement for natural ground (SR2) and(Soil nailing, micro-pile and so on)
      3. Soil Reinforcement with natural materials (SR3)(Stone column or other natural materials)
    2. Soil Mixing
      1. Deep soil mixing(SM1)
      2. Shallow stabilization (SM2) and
      3. Grouting (SM3)

EXPECTED RESULTS by TC9

  1. to publish technical book for the purpose of education on earth reinforcement for engineers and graduate students in the school,
  2. to initialize a new International Symposium/Workshop on Earth Reinforcement under the replacement of IS Kyushu.
  3. to make official reference on International Design Calculation Database for Earth Reinforcement Technique,
  4. and else.
