◆講義題目：Moral Leadership Capabilities: The Foundation of Authoritative Communities

◆講義概要：In 2003, a research report compiled by The Commission on Children at Risk, a group of 33 children’s doctors, research scientists, and mental health and youth service professionals provided significant data about child development, and human development in general. The report combines data from hard science, social, biological, psychological and social research to determine why children are at risk and reaches the conclusion that the crisis children are undergoing is due to a lack of both “-close connections to other people, and deep connections to moral and spiritual meaning.”. The current state of today’s society is a result of the failure to fulfill these vital needs. The report states that, "building and renewing authoritative communities is arguable the greatest imperative that we face as a society.
What exactly is an authoritative community and how do we start building one? This talk proposes that the framework for the formation of these communities is Moral Leadership--a leadership that is service-oriented and develops capabilities that are needed for personal and social transformation.
