Present researches
Laboratory of optical communications engineering aims to achieve an ultrahigh-speed optical network in the next generation by engaging in the research of various types of ultrahigh-speed optical devices. The research areas include optical switch, clock extraction, wavelength conversion, high-speed optical pulse source, and the development of new functional devices using optical nonlinearities. We are also actively engaged in work on optical fiber sensing/monitoring systems applicable for maintenance of buried optical fiber cables or FTTH access lines.
