Starting in April 2024, in recognition of the increasing importance of information security in recent years, the Strategic Planning and Dissemination Division has been reorganized into two specialized units: the Cross-Domain Research Division 1 and the Cross-Domain Research Division 2.
While the Cross-Domain Research Division 1 focuses primarily on research related to space, electromagnetic waves, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the Cross-Domain Research Division 2 focuses on information security.
Specifically, we conduct research on security related to communication protocols, such as network security and cryptography.
In particular, the rapid advancement of quantum technology is expected to have a significant impact on information security in the near future. Researching countermeasures against these potential threats is an urgent priority.
Furthermore, physical methods utilizing leaked electromagnetic waves, such as side-channel attacks, are known to pose threats to information security. To research countermeasures against such methods, we will maintain close communication and build a collaborative framework with the Cross-Domain Research Division 1.
